First camping adventure of the Season

Out to Rennell Sound on Sunday for an over nighter ... road in fairly good condition, the big hill no problem .... but be very careful of the "water bars?" on the Rennell Sound stretch there are between 4-5  from the hill to Bonanza.

We checked out the Gregory Creek site and then moved on to Cone Head ... we decided to stay there.

Sunday afternoon we headed over the Bonanza, walked to the western sand edge and lay down in the warm sand with a half buried log for a pillow, fell promptly asleep. We did pick up a few sand dollars for the garden, then headed back to our home beach where we were quite successful in our beach glass hunt ...

Next to our dinner preparations ... lamb curry, couscous, salads, fench bread and rhubarb crisp ... as usual we mused "wonder what the Queen is doing tonight?" hard to believe it could be better than ours.

Evening was some clouds rolls over with a bit of a cool breeze so off to bed ...

Instead of tenting each of us decided to car camp ... which seemed to work quite well, although one car had several 4 legged wee visitors during the night!

We put of the food in the car so as not to attract bears; we got mice instead .... lol.

Next morning low tide and tide pool exploring before heading back to QC to prepare for a fellow hikers good-bye party.
